About Us
We are two U.S.-based University Professors who have a passion for mentoring international students. While we do this every day with graduate students at our institution, we started Professors and Me as a boutique consulting firm to work with a limited number of international high school students each year to assist them in their quest to attend a U.S. University. Our goal is to help your child gain acceptance into an elite institution in the U.S. that fits their needs, aspirations, skills, and personality.
Our Services
Comprehensive mentorship for students applying to University
A U.S.-based Professor with significant experience in Kazakhstan and a deep-knowledge of U.S. Universities will meet with you regularly via video call to help you strategize, plan, and gain the experiences that will make your University applications as competitive as possible. Topics covered include: 1) finding the best schools for you and your aspirations; 2) gaining the needed experience and skills that will make your application stand out at your preferred schools; 3) planning for and applying to U.S.-based summer University preparatory programs; and 4) developing a schedule for touring U.S. University campuses during the summer. Each students’ program is tailor-fit to their needs.
Standardized Test Preparation
You will receive personalized assistance to prepare for the Standardized Tests you need to complete before applying to schools (i.e. PSAT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) exams from an actual U.S.-based University professor who at one time was himself an international student at an elite U.S. University. Assistance will include taking mock exams, identifying areas to improve, discussing test-taking strategies and much more.
Personalized Application and Essay Preparation
.You will receive personalized assistance to help you think through your life goals and aspirations in a way that makes you stand out in your application essay. As application time approaches, we will provide assistance as you seek to tailor your essays to each school to which you are applying, ensuring that you are able to articulate the vision of yourself you seek to convey and do so in a well written fashion that can help your application stand out.
Additional Customizable Services
Additionally, we can tailor a plan for your child that fits your family’s needs. Additional services that can be customized to your family’s needs include having us accompany your child on his or her tour of U.S. University campuses as well as support while they are studying in the U.S., either in a summer program or during their undergraduate study. Also, if your family has other proposals that meet your needs, we are always open to discussing.
